This is kind of where the ARIA stuff gets a bit more confusing. Landscape and widget roles are kind of common sense for the most part. The states and properties however can be pretty damn specific and it’s actually quite difficult to gat clear information on how best to use them. The W3 best practices does its best, but personally I find W3 documentation incredibly boring to wade through.

Until the spec moves beyond work draft however, it’s probably not in anyones best interests to try and capture massive amounts of information that’s liable to change dramatically. The W3 Supported States and Properties is probably the best source for information at the moment.
